Temporary Need: 03/05/24 -- 9/10/24. Six (6) full-time, seasonal, temporary CDL Drivers needed. Location: Work will be performed in Salem, Santaquin, and Lehi, Utah. Employer owns and/or controls all worksites. Delivery points in Iron, Sevier, Carbon, Tooele, Utah, Sanpete, Wasatch, Summit, Davis, Box Elder, Weber, Cache Counties, Utah. Delivery points in Uinta and Sweetwater Counties, Wyoming. Delivery points in Elko Nevada, Nevada. Delivery points in Mesa and Moffat Counties, Colorado. Delivery points in Twin Falls, Jerome, Cassia, Bannock, Bingham, and Bonneville Counties, Idaho. Delivery points in Uintah and Salt Lake Counties. Utah. Will work 40 hrs/wk, Mon-Sat, 6:00 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. Wage is $26.16/hour. Duties: Crops/Commodities: Bedding Plants. This job requires a minimum of 12 months of prior verifiable experience driving/servicing the combination of a tractor unit and semi-trailer. Workers must be able to perform all duties with accuracy and efficiency. Worker will drive semi tractor-trailer truck to/from specified destinations; maneuver trucks into and out of loading and unloading positions. Worker must possess the ability to read a map, use GPS and successfully navigate to a specific location; complete electronic log book; regularly climb up and down, on, into and out of tractor and trailers; complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection and paperwork on trucks and trailers. Clean soiled lights, windows and mirrors. Add oil and engine fuel, as needed. Worker must possess a valid driver's license, Class A CDL or equivalent; must be able/willing to drive in snow and possible hazardous conditions. May also drive other types of company vehicles. Insurable driver's license required in order to drive company vehicles, including semi-trucks. Able to lift 60 lbs. • Workers must maintain a valid driver's license, Class A CDL or equivalent, and a clean driving record throughout employment and comply with applicable requirements of the United States Department of Transportation regulations. • Workers must provide a written copy of driving record from place of residence in Mexico • Employer-paid post-employment, random, upon suspicion and post-accident drug testing required. Any worker who fails a mandatory drug test and is unable to obtain the required licensing as a result will be terminated. • Must pass a post-employment road test to gauge driving ability. • Employer uniformly conducts a post-employment DOT physical, background check and motor vehicle records check. • Workers need to work with sales representatives and/or merchandizer at the stores to assist in handling product including but not limited to unloading product, placing them in merchandizing tables, collecting plants and rolling racks. • Must have proficiency in English to communicate, read and comprehend traffic signage, and interact with roadway officials. • Products must be handled carefully to prevent damage. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. Work required when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Terms and Conditions: Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. Employer reserves the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able but is unwilling to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product, or for any other lawful reason. The employer may discipline the worker, including brief suspension of work activities/employment for a set period determined b y the supe visor or termination of employment as described in the Work Rules. Employer assures that workers will be provided transportation from living quarters to work site every day (for workers who must be provided housing under the applicable regulations). Tools, room, board, kitchen facilities and transportation provided at no cost to workers. Must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer ($15.46/day, maximum $59/day with receipts). The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed. This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
