WorkSource Oregon Maintenance Worker - Summer/Seasonal - Temporary in SALEM, Oregon

New employees typically start at step 1 of the pay scale (\$19.21-\$25.69/hour). Returning employees are eligible for hire above step 1 based on number of previous seasons worked. Anticipated Start Dates: We are filling 32 temporary jobs with staggered start dates from April to June. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Responsible for various manual labor tasks within the Public Works Department including, but not limited to, work duties for roads, bridges, vegetation, sign, pavement markings, traffic devices and control, ferries, fleet, drainage conveyance, nuisance control, working with adult-in-custody work crews, park maintenance, environmental sites, landfill and transfer site operations. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS 1. High school diploma, or equivalent; AND 2. Any combination of six months experience in controlling or directing traffic, performing semi-skilled road maintenance/construction work, exterior work that includes heavy manual repetitive labor activities, or other closely related areas or activities; OR 3.Any satisfactory combination of work, education, training, or experience relevant to the position, as determined by Marion County.
