Northwest Human Services Crisis Intervention Specialist (Swing Shift) in Salem, Oregon

CRISIS INTERVENTION SPECIALIST (Swing Shift)

Location : Salem OR 97304

Hours: Swing Shift - 4pm - 12am

Compensation: DOE, $24-25/hr.

YOUR ROLE:

Crisis Intervention Specialists provide 24-hour crisis intervention, suicide prevention, risk assessment, and brief supportive counseling over the phone to clients who are experiencing emotional distress, suicidal ideation, and/or seeking information on available mental health services. The Crisis and Information Hotline answers all calls made to 988 in Marion and Polk counties and acts as after-hours crisis support for multiple community partners. Crisis Intervention Specialists provide crisis intervention, risk assessment screening, safety planning, follow-up support, and advocacy based on client's assessed needs. Candidates must be eligible to obtain/maintain a QMHA-R level certification. ( )

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or behavioral health sciences field, or combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team.

  • Demonstrated ability to use appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills while working with individuals who may be very escalated or experiencing acute crisis.

  • Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care models.

  • Demonstrated ability to practice self-reflection

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work some holidays and weekends.

  • Remote work may be required, but this is not a fully remote position.

  • Initial training takes place during the day.
