State of Massachusetts Assistant Director for Early College Student Success in Salem, Massachusetts

Overview: The assistant director for Early College student success assists in developing, implementing, and assessing resources to support Early College (EC) students in the high school setting and on campus. In addition to working with the university’s Early College executive director, coordinator, faculty, and university staff, the assistant director works closely with teachers and staff in partner school districts to monitor student progress and design academic support structures that provide students easy access to assistance in either the university or district setting. The assistant director maintains a caseload of Early College students and is responsible for ensuring that students at risk connect with resources to facilitate their success. Please note that this is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding. Required Qualifications: * Master’s degree * Minimum of three years of professional experience in a high school or a college/university setting * Documented experience working with BIPOC students and/or students in other under-represented groups Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Education or a related field * Experience working in or for an Early College program * Experience working in both higher education and K-12 education settings * Experience in developing programs or services to support academic success for diverse learners * Familiarity with online retention tools (e.g., Navigate360) and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) * Proficiency in Spanish Working Conditions: This is an on-site, in-person position with on-campus, in-person responsibilities that may require occasional work on evenings and weekends. Office activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and interaction with computer equipment; occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 5-10 pounds.
