St. Charles Community College Part-time Faculty: Welding Department in Saint Peters, Missouri

St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, in the heart of growing St. Charles County (SCC). At SCC, we have a passion for student success. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success in serving diverse student populations.

SCC - Workforce Development department invites qualified candidates to apply for ourpooledPart-time Adjunct Welding Instructor(s). The individual(s) will be responsible for program and course development centered on technical instruction designed to prepare students for the workforce. This person will collaborate with other credit and non-credit departments, as well as K-12 and industry partners, to create innovative opportunities and partnerships in alignment with the strategic vision and mission of the college. Duties include ordering and maintaining supplies; keeping records of accounts; monitoring welding lab equipment and establishing procedures to ensure a safe learning environment and efficient operation reflective of industry standards. Additionally, this person will lead the program advisory board for welding; teach welding courses; supervise internships; participate in curriculum revision as needed; create credit course and training schedules; and, assist in the selection of instructors.Part-time appointments made on a semester-by-semester (as needed) basis.

Ideal candidate(s) will perform instructional classroom and practical hands on training in the below topics. The candidate will create and deliver training to comply with industry recognized welding procedures and American Welding Society criteria.

Must be familiar with:

  • Safety
  • GMAW
  • SMAW
  • FCAW
  • GTAW
  • Blueprint reading
  • NDT procedures

Hours: must be able to work days

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of related experience as a Welder,
  • Welding Instructor/Trainer in an industrial environment. Should possess strong attention to detail and leadership experience. Working knowledge of: Welding, Cutting and Fabrication, manufacturing.
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to work well with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • American Welding Society certification.
