Computype Inc RFID Product and Process Engineer in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Position Summary: The RFID Product & Process Engineer works closely with Sales during the sales cycle providing subject matter expertise to customers on RFID track and trace solutions for life sciences and healthcare laboratories or facilities. The RFID Product & Process Engineer collaborates internally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure that production maximizes efficiency, reduces scrap, and improves Quality standards. The role supports profitable sales growth with new and existing customers by providing technical and consultative services. Main Responsibilities: Understand a prospective customer s business problems and map them to RFID enabled solutions. Design, install, and support passive RFID systems with an emphasis on HF and UHF at customer locations. Work with end-users to ensure the success of their application. Provide verbal, written, and on-site instruction to troubleshoot any issues. Maintain detailed knowledge of products available internally and in the industry. Research the commercial RFID offerings available in the market today and assist with decisions to make or buy. Perform tests to ensure RFID products meet customer requirements. Provide on-site support to St. Paul, Minnesota manufacturing site to improve production and optimize efficiency. Collaborate with Engineering to develop and deploy Best Practices and Standard Operating Procedures. Assist in value chain mapping and supply chain strategy for RFID labels (inlays, labels, converters, locations, etc.) Determine optimal modes and settings of RFID readers for applications using the manufacturer's demo programs and SDKs. Transfer knowledge to Computype software development engineers. Attend selected industry conferences for the purpose of collecting industry intelligence, supplier evaluations, and maintaining RFID subject matter expertise.
