Job Description Job Description ABOUT YOUR ROLE: As a Student Advisor in the Student Advisory Council, you will be part of a nationwide team of student leaders from College & Career Prep programs, your school's Career Learning leaders, and the Stride corporate marketing team. Student Advisors have a passion for their career pathway and are excited to share their exploration and education experience with others. You will be able to share your insights and perspective with prospective students and families, local leaders, and industry professionals. Student Advisors will have opportunities to try new things, get noticed, and be helpful contributors. This competitive position is for Career Prep students looking to get a head start on their resume by gaining some solid experience with a large public company that is a leader in its field. Summary: Selected students will be part of a paid internship from March 2024 through September 2024 and will be eligible to compete for a bonus at the end of your tenure. Student Advisors will get exposure to a corporate marketing department and executives, social media and marketing experience, and insight into real product development business processes. You will also get networking opportunities with colleges, company executives, and fellow interns across the country. The internship will result in experiences and projects to feature on your resume or college application, as well as the development of leadership, collaboration, and communication skills. As a member of the Student Advisory Council, you will be a brand ambassador for your school's College & Career Prep program, sharing your experiences as you're exploring careers, taking career courses, preparing for certification exams, and participating in work-based learning. You will use your social media skills, with support from the Council's school and company contacts, to create content for the national profiles. You will share your perspective with students and families, school leaders, and company executives through blogs, social media content, surveys, webinars, and focus groups. Deadline to Submit Application: Friday, February 23rd at 11:59 pm PST Anticipated Hiring Timeline (Subject to Change):

  • January 2024: Student Advisory Council Application opens.
  • February 23rd, 2024: Deadline to submit application for the Student Advisory Council.
  • March 2024: On-Demand and Live Interviews conducted.
  • April 2024: Start Date for Student Advisory Council.

  • Participate in training sessions starting in September to learn about responsibilities, receive tools and information about how to execute the work;
  • Spend approximately 3 hours per week on assignments;
  • Develop social media content about the College & Career Prep experience, and work with Stride contacts to post it;
  • Participate in focus groups and meetings with company executives to provide feedback on the College & Career Prep program and student experience;
  • Participate in workshops to learn about different career resources and career paths at a large national corporation;
  • Willingness to host a YouTube video series and/or appear in Facebook Lives, Instagram Lives, pre-recorded interviews, and webinars.

Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Currently a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in the College & Career Prep program at a K12-powered school, AND
  • Parental consent to participate is required, AND
  • Student must have or be able to get current work permit, if necessary per state law, AND
  • Ability to manage schoolwork first, as well as meet the weekly responsibilities of the position

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Web proficiency
