Description Robert Half is looking for a Director of Finance to join a well-respected company. The director of finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills in order to be a part of the management team. Are you are an experienced VP/Director of Finance looking for a challenging role at an established company? Then this may be the role for you.

Major responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of financial forecasts and outlooks

  • Manage the operating procedures of the department, including short- and long-range goals, objectives, and policies- Work with department managers to develop five-year business plans

  • Manage the organizational structure of the department in order to achieve goals and objectives

  • Suggest benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance

  • Prepare financial analysis for product investment decisions and contract negotiations

  • Direct, review, and prepare financial planning and budget management functions

  • Analyze and monitor forecasting and budgeting models

  • Hire, train, and retain finance staff

  • Supervise all financial reporting preparation

  • Compare monthly operating results against budget

  • Supervise risk and insurance management

  • Supervise all operations of the finance and accounting department

  • Ensure adherence to budgetary reporting requirements, including local, state, and federal Requirements

  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills required

  • Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, accounting, and finance principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • MBA or CPA is preferred

  • High analytical and extremely detailed

  • 5+ years of finance and accounting experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

  • Efficiency in a variety of accounting and financial reporting systems
