The Data Architect II will assist in the design of our master data set, developing architecture, and troubleshooting data issues. To do well in this role you need a very fine eye for detail, experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible to evolve the data architecture and data strategies for the company.

  • Design and manage centralized, end-to-end data architecture solutions that are aligned with company budget objectives and with business processes.

  • Design frameworks to track data assets: the flow, usage, and storage of company data.

  • Improve observability of the platform defining relevant KPIs, alarm states, and data service telemetry presentation.

  • Coordinate the build of service required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Snowflake and other ‘big data’ technologies.

  • Coordinate the build of analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.

  • Coordinate database development standards to ensure that company data is secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and service provider regions.

  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in company data systems.

  • Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.

  • Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.

  • Design and coordinate a curriculum for coaching and training customers in the use of business intelligence tools to enhance business decision-making capability.

  • Create documentation including requirements, design, and user manuals.

  • Develop standards, policies, and procedures for the form, structure, and attributes of the business intelligence tools and systems.

  • Influences changes to standards when necessary.

  • Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

What You will Need:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. A master’s degree preferred.

  • 8+ years in an analytical position required. Leadership experience preferred.

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

  • Familiarity with data collection software and protocols.

  • SQL Server skills including SQL objects development, performance tuning, data analysis and integration required.

  • Knowledge in technology such as Snowflake, Matillion, and ThoughtSpot are preferred.

  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

  • A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.

  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.

  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to read code and support applications, reports, and processes.

  • A collaborative working style and strong attention to detail.

  • Effective time management with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Strong analytical, written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  

  • Required to use close vision and be able to focus. 

  • Upon job offer, must be able to pass a background check and a drug test prior to employment.

Salary Range: $81,000 to $115,000
