Provides day-to-day leadership and management of the admissions team. Manages a team of admission counselors and, in collaboration with the Director, develops and executes recruitment strategy at a high level. Responsible for leading efforts in driving applications using data, analytics, and strategically empowering counselors to manage their funnels effectively. Work with other key leaders to ensure the student experience is cohesive and optimized for student enrollment. Responsibilities Provides individualized one-to-one recruitment through relationship development and communication with students from a given territory while meeting recruiting activity goals. Manage and lead the admissions counselor team through routine check-ins and monitoring of activity and advancement toward goals: Mentor and coach according to best practices in student recruitment. Encourage continual improvement and leadership development. Train new enrollment counselors. Provide strategic oversight of the prospective student journey and highlight areas of improvement including how it intersects with the Enrollment Checklist, Financial Aid, Registration, Housing, Admissions events and more. Work closely with the Director of Admissions on key enrollment initiatives, team priorities, partnerships, culture building and team performance and accountability. Ensure team has up-to-date knowledge on all Bethel University programs, departments and application procedures in order to make the process for prospective students and their families as smooth as possible. Responsible for managing travel plans, admission office coverage and vacation/PTO for counselors. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills Be a developer of individuals and teams. Strengths of resourcefulness and adaptability preferred. Experience Required Experience: 2 years of experience working in an admissions office. Preferred Experience: 2 years of experience as an admissions counselor. Education Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Master's degree in a related field. Additional Information Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time. Evening and weekend work is required throughout the year.
