PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking Senior Power Engineer

Position Summary:

  • Provide electrical and process control engineering designs for assigned projects, with an emphasis on support of electrical power distribution and power systems design and analysis for Seeds Supply and Seeds Breeding facility projects.

  • This engineer supports multiple sites and multiple projects concurrently.

  • Project deliverables include engineering estimates, electrical specifications, arc flash studies and panel / equipment labeling, site single line diagram updates and maintenance, power distribution and grounding design, materials purchase requisitions, electrical and controls drawings, construction bid packages, and on-site qualification of electrical and controls facilities.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Must be experienced in the use of SKM PowerTools to execute fault calculations, load flow studies, relay coordination and arc flash hazard analysis.

  • Additional duties include evaluation of site power requirements and providing project startup and other troubleshooting support for seed production facilities as requested.

  • Specific project duties include preparing project electrical specifications and summaries for front end design packages, working with the electrical designer to develop project drawings for electrical and control layouts, schematics and installation details, reviewing electrical and control vendor drawings, and supporting construction as required.

  • 7+ years experience in power systems design / analysis required.

  • Travel will be required for this role.

  • Approximate requirement is 25%.

  • Most travel is within driving distance (4 - 5 hours).

  • There are some sites which could require air travel.

  • Our company leased vehicles are available for travel to production facilities.
