Position Summary: As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring that materials are efficiently managed, from receiving and storing to distributing within our facilities. We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials throughout the facility.
Receive incoming materials, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and store items in appropriate locations.
Prepare materials for shipping, including picking, packing, labeling, and completing necessary paperwork.
Conduct regular inventories and maintain accurate records of materials on hand.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
Collaborate with team members and departments to improve materials management processes and support overall operational efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance checks on material handling equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role preferred.
Certified or able to be certified in the operation of material handling equipment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Basic computer skills for inventory and record-keeping purposes.
