Position Summary

This position represents an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who is looking for experience in a wide range of tax functions which will continue to build as the person learns more about the company and the tax department. This position is primarily responsible for U.S. Federal and State income tax compliance and income tax provision under ASC 740. This position will work with the various functional groups within Energizer such as Finance and Controllership and with outside tax advisors on various income tax compliance and federal tax planning projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to coordinate, monitor and review federal and state compliance and planning activities

  • Assist with the quarterly and annual global tax provision processes

  • Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations

  • Consistently maintain a professional demeanor and communicate in a respectful and collaborative manner

  • Responsible for the Federal and State Income Tax Compliance Process

  • Conduct research and financial modeling related for various federal and state local issues and proposed tax law changes as requested

  • Preparation of the quarterly income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740

  • Develop and maintain SOX controls and processes related to Tax

  • Research tax return issues to facilitate accurate compliance as needed

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state estimated tax payment requirements

  • Maintain detailed workpapers supporting tax returns using Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg Tax

  • Review of property tax renditions prepared by Senior

  • Assist with federal and state corporate income tax and property tax audits and gathering of information requested by tax authorities

  • Assists with various special projects as needed, including coordination with other departments

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting and/or large corporation tax department

  • Solid understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research

  • Solid understanding of accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Team player with strong analytical and organization skills

  • Self-motivated individual with ability to manage multiple tasks independently

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg Tax Research, Bloomberg Tax Provision experience a plus
