Department: Art/Music/ Recreation Therapy

Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday Day shift hours.

Starting Pay: 23.86/hr

Location: 1201 S. Grand Ave, Saint Louis University Hospital

Art Therapist Develops and implements art therapy treatment plans.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts patient assessments and establishes art therapy treatment goals.

  • Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of art therapy interventions.

  • Coordinates therapeutic art activities for both large and small groups. Observes patient response and encourages socialization.

  • Provides patients with information regarding resources and therapeutic art activities in the community.

  • Coordinates patient care with other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Master's degree in Art Therapy or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • No experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
