Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated, talented Electrical Systems Design Engineers to join the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team located in Saint Charles, MO .

As a part of the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization, Precision Engagement Systems (PES) is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs we support in Saint Charles, MO include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements in accordance with customer needs and contract requirements

  • Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, interface specifications and technical performance specifications

  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

  • Solve problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Development, integration and test of weapons system avionics such as mission computers, tail actuation systems and carriage electronic systems, as well as ground-based systems such as launch systems and weapons simulators

  • Develop and/or modify basic hardware and software designs based on defined requirements.

  • Perform validation/verification tests to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies

  • Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and requirements compliance

  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to weapons business needs

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Saint Charles, MO.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience with avionics test and/or integration

  • Experience in avionics systems development

  • Experience working development program

  • 1 or more years' related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experienced (Level 3): 3 or more years' related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience

  • Lead (Level 4): 5 or more years' related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and engineering experience

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering is highly desired

  • Applicants must have good communication, analytical, and organizational skills and be able to work in a team environment - previous design team or special project team participation is desired

  • Ability to conceive, develop, optimize, maintain and modify electronic/electrical system designs based on requirements

  • Experience working in a lab environment (e.g. HW/SW interfaces/integration, creating/conducting configuration testing, troubleshooting, proficiency using general lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters and analyzers)

  • Experience using design, simulation and modeling tools (e.g. Mentor Capital, MATLAB, SIMULINK, PSPICE)

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for associate level: $79,900 – $108,100

Summary pay range for experienced level: $96,050 – $129,950

Summary pay range for lead level: $119,850 – $162,150
