Agricultural Mechanic

St. Agatha, ME FT/Days Permanent Opportunity

Job Description:

Opening for an experienced Agricultural Mechanic to work for a well-established employer in St. Agatha. Competitive pay and benefits; PTO, health/dental/vision, and retirement. FT/Days; 6:00 AM 6:00 PM; \$28.00 \$30.00/hr.

The Agricultural Mechanic will repair and maintain a small fleet of trucks, tractors, and farming equipment. Employee will be expected to perform inspections and routine maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and repair broken equipment. All work must be performed in accordance with established safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine equipment to locate potential damage, defects, and wear; diagnose and resolve any abnormalities to improve functionality.
  • Utilize hand tools and welding equipment to replace and repair mechanical parts.
  • Disassemble machines to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Reassemble machines post-repair. Test equipment and make adjustments as required for continuous safe performance.
  • Test electrical components and wiring.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records of all equipment service and repairs.
  • Identify parts and equipment that will be needed for future maintenance projects and notify management in a timely manner.
  • Follow all safety regulations and requirements as directed by the site supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education. Mechanical technician and/or ASE certifications strongly valued.
  • At least three years of experience as a professional mechanic. Background with agricultural equipment or other large machinery strongly preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record. CDL strongly preferred.
  • Good communication skills and ability to demonstrate commitment to following workplace safety standards.

Schedule: Full-time/Days; 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM; some on-call availability required.

Pay: \$28.00 \$30.00/hr. with benefits; PTO, health/dental/vision, and retirement.
