Located in Saginaw, MI, Saginaw Future Inc. (SFI) was established in 1992 as a 501c3, non-profit organization through a collaborative agreement between the County and City of Saginaw and the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce. SFI is a public/private partnership organized to Advance Economic Growth in Saginaw County and is looked to as one of the most successful, results-oriented organizations in Michigan.

SFI provides proactive and focused economic development assistance, striving for diversified growth, job creation and retention, increased business investment and tax base and a positive environment for businesses to thrive. SFI has a great reputation as a collaborative, inclusive and innovative organization, and is an employer of choice for its nine-member team.

The successful candidate should be an innovative leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with business leaders, elected officials and other stakeholders. The optimal candidate will have demonstrated a culture of cooperation and understand the importance of strong relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and clients.

The ideal candidate will have led an economic development organization or been in an executive leadership position, responsible for creating and implementing a strategic plan, developing initiatives to address challenges and opportunities, and raised funds to support the implementation of the vision.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The SFI President and CEO must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an economic development/business executive with a proven track record of energetic and innovative leadership that displays vision and a track record of success.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:

  • An undergraduate degree is required and an advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • A Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) is preferred.
  • A Certified Economic Development Finance Professional is preferred.
