Covenant HealthCare US:MI:SAGINAW DAY SHIFT FULL TIME BENEFITED Summary:

Inventory Specialist demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Specifically, the Inventory Specilaist directs and coordinates the receipt, breakdown, storage, preparation, and delivery of medical and surgical supplies and equipment used for patient care. The individual must possess the ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner, demonstrate effective time management, work independently, make sound independent decisions and have good organization skills while at the same time maintain a positive attitude and portray Covenant HealthCare's team concepts.

Responsibilities: Contributes to organization success targets for net operating margin. Models Covenants Mission, Vision and Values of keeping our commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation. Demonstrates commitment to unsurpassed level of Customer Service. Monitors satisfaction of customers on units by periodic visits with supply representatives or Nurse Managers. Maintains a log of these visits and submits the log to the Coordinator on a quarterly basis. Contributes to Supply Chain Management operational success by identifying and communicating ideas that improve customer service and/or promote distribution efficiency. Maintain inventory of all supplies and materials to ensure uninterrupted product flow. Issues the right supplies to the right units at the right time and restocks as necessary following published procedures. Maintain receiving area(s), storage area(s), supply carts, and supply cabinets in an organized manner to ensure easy access to and efficient movement of all supplies and materials. Ensures quality of supplies throughout the organization by checking for sterility as needed, expiration dates when applicable, and cleanliness of supplies furnished. Demonstrates knowledge of HFAP Standards, hospital safety and infection control policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment. Operates, cleans and maintains automatic supply dispensing stations (Omnicells). Accurately uses RF based technology to track and document daily inventory. Provide hours of service information and other information applicable to maintain supply relationships. Informs coordinator of persistent increases or decreases in supply volume or stock-out situations based on usage or customer requests. Completes and routes paperwork associated with deliveries and stock returns such as, packing slip, Notification of Receipt, P.O. copy and/or department expense number information. Participate in all scheduled physical inventories. Enters supply orders into computer system in a timely manner for appropriate picking and delivery of item Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned including cross training to other areas of Supply Chain Management. Other duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school graduate or equivalent. Valid Michigan Driver's license and a driving record that allows Covenant HealthCare's auto insurance carrier to provide insurance coverage Working knowledge of inventory/warehousing functions preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Basic computer knowledge/skills Demonstrated sound judgment in difficult/sensitive situations.
