Requirements

Position Summary:

The Obstetrical Sonographer performs delegated medical functions under the direction of the clinic Medical Director. The Sonographer shall perform interpretive diagnostic studies as ordered by the referring physician/provider. The Sonographer shall exhibit quality patient care and utilize patient and staff safety measureswhen choosing technical factors to insure proper sonographic diagnosis of patients. Also, the Sonographer will assistthe providers in monitoring the health of both the mother and child(ren) throughout the pregnancy

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited program of ultrasonography or comparable training.
  • Current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved educational programs.
  • American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification in OBGYN sonography or to obtain within one year of employment.
  • Within 6 months of employment demonstrates proficiency with anatomy ultrasounds.
  • Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with both staff and patients.
  • An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of MGRMC staff and support.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
  • An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management.
  • Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in OBGYN Sonography.
  • Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.
