Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of workshop technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor efficient workflow processes to maximize workshop output.

  • Schedule and assign tasks to technicians based on their skills and workload.

  • Oversee all aspects of assmblies, ensuring products meet specifications and quality standards.

  • Conduct regular quality control checks and implement corrective actions when necessary.

  • Manage inventory control and ensure the workshop is properly stocked with materials and supplies.

  • Train and develop workshop technicians, providing coaching and mentorship to enhance their skills.

  • Conduct safety briefings and enforce all safety regulations within the workshop.

  • Investigate and address safety incidents, implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

  • Prepare and maintain workshop documentation, including production schedules, inventory records, and performance reports.

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., engineering, procurement) to ensure smooth workshop operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum [5] years of experience working in a similar workshop environment

  • High School diploma (or Secondary School Diploma or equivalent) as minimum. Preferred 5 years College degree

  • Strong understanding of workshop machinery, processes, and relevant safety regulations

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality control

  • Experience with workshop management principles and best practices

  • A strong understanding of the workshop's equipment, processes, and materials is crucial. should be able to troubleshoot issues and ensure tasks are completed correctly.

  • The ability to identify and resolve issues that arise in the workshop is essential. This includes identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions.

  • Highly organized to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and keep the workshop running smoothly.

  • A keen eye for detail is crucial for maintaining quality control and ensuring adherence to specifications.

  • Familiarity with workshop management software and other relevant programs can be a plus.

  • Experience supervising a team is essential. This includes assigning tasks, scheduling work, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key to motivate staff, delegate effectively, and address concerns. should also be able to clearly explain procedures and mediate disagreements.

  • Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel computer skills

  • Self-motivator, self-starter
