Position Description

Primary purpose:

  • Summer Hire position to gain hands-on experience within the Pipeline and Terminals Transportation Industry by working alongside experienced Technicians.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Reliable team member in support of Field Operations

    Work duties may include:

  • Attend safety meetings/training

  • Assist employees in carrying out various operational work assignments

  • Learn the proper use of tools used to inspect, maintain, repair, install and troubleshoot various equipment/assets

  • Handle material, supplies and equipment needed to complete work orders

  • Learn to read and use drawings, blueprints and maps

  • Gain knowledge of environmental rules and regulations along with requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities

  • Follow all Company policies and apply appropriate operating and maintenance procedures

  • Complete or assist with written and/or online work orders and other various documentation

  • Other duties as assigned

    Position Requirements

    Minimum requirements:

    Education: High School Degree or Equivalent GED

    Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

    Experience / specific knowledge:

  • Willing to learn and gain basic construction and tools knowledge

  • Willing to get hands dirty getting hands on experience in the field on projects, maintenance, and troubleshooting

  • Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications

    Skills/abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

  • Possess strong problem solving, analytical and creative thinking skills

    Physical demands:

  • Able to lift 25 lbs.

  • Able to traverse uneven terrain

  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, often for long periods of time

    Working conditions:

  • Working outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.)

  • May include heights (stairs, platforms, ladders, etc.)

    Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities: Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position: Preferred candidate will be enrolled in or have completed a course of study such as:

Building and Construction Management, Welding, Controls and Electronics, Diesel Technology, HVAC Technology, Machining, Robotics and Automation, or like fields of study

Company will provide proper safety gear and personal protective equipment

Compensation:

Pay range is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
