Sutter Health Storage Infrastructure Engineer in Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

This position will be remote, but selected candidate will be working PST hours

Leads the development of enterprise technology, solutions, systems, storage, network and telecommunications engineering designs that are used as a basis for consolidating and standardizing infrastructure throughout Sutter Health and its affiliates. Interprets architecture requirements, design, product evaluations, selection, configuration, installation, testing and integration of new technology to better support the needs of Sutter Health and its affiliates. Provides in-depth cross-platform server systems, systems engineering, and integration leadership.

This position is responsible for install, document and troubleshooting of SAN network infrastructure devices including routers, SAN switches, FCIP switches, Storage arrays, and NAS arrays.

Job Description :

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field ​

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years project management experience.

  • 2 years proven experience in the engineering, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of a wide range of server platforms, networking and/or storage devices.

  • 2 years experience working with change management practices.

  • Experience with SAN and NAS Administration/Operations, Storage Replication, and SAN Switch Administration, preferably Brocade, is highly desired.

  • Desired Storage Area Network Specialty: NetApp, Pure, and Mid to large block storage such as: IBM DS8K, Hitachi VSP/G-series. NAS Storage such as NetApp, HNAS. Storage Area Network Brocade SAN/FCIP switches, Brocade SANNAV, Cisco UCS, VMWare.

  • Desired Systems Specialty: Experience with SAN Storage replication software such as IBM Copy Services, Hitachi HDID, Hitachi HORCM, NetApp Mirroring. Experience with server operating systems such as Linux, AIX, Windows. Storage SAN performance tools such as IBM Spectrum Control, Hitachi Command Center. Working knowledge of Storage backup software: IBM Spectrum Protect, NetBackup, Rubrik.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proven knowledge of storage performance, data replication, storage area network (SAN) based backup, load balancing, storage virtualization methods, and SAN zoning and provisioning.

  • Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify relevant concerns and factors.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, information services (IS) team members, management, and executive personnel/staff.

  • Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Use basic English words and phrases to effectively and clearly organize and communicate thoughts and ideas.

  • Organize workflow to accomplish established objectives.

  • Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

  • Work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

  • Work as part of a team or collaborate with colleagues from different departments to achieve a common goal or to gain better understanding of client needs.

  • Perform effectively in environments with frequent and fluctuating workload changes, competing demands, and frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

Pay Range is $52.01 to $78.03 / hour. Salary ranges for Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, and Pennsylvania are Pay Range is $46.81 to $58.51 / hour. Salary ranges for Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah are Pay Range is $41.61 to $52.01 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
