What You'll Do

We're seeking a Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Applications and Network , who will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing programs and applications for enterprise use.

The candidate must be able to apply customer analysis to create applications that respond to customer needs and provide innovative solutions to common problems.

The Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Applications and Network, works closely with or manages internal project teams as well as all 3rd party contractors to support activities, project work and system upkeep.

You'll be maintaining existing software as well as leading new developments, perform application debugging, testing, code improvement and re-designing tasks.

The Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Applications and Network is also responsible for 2nd level internal support for current systems.

These current systems include MES, PreActor/Auto-Scheduling Solutions, Mendix/Other Low Code applications, ERP, Passive Data Collection, RFID, OpsCenter, Ignition, Controls layer/OT solutions, Web 3.0/ETH, Industry 4.0, and any other system(s) that may be introduced into the SSB Eco-Syste

How You'll Do It:

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Proactively maintain new technologies in the plant manufacturing environment Cloud computing, AWS, Azure, NetApp, EMC2 SaaS – Dynamics, PowerApps, SalesForce, MS 365Guides,Local machines, OT Networking communications.

  • Redundant systems IoT, MQTT, SparkPlug B, NodeRed, Ignition, HiveMQ,SQL, Historian, and other Server based solutions RFID, RuBee, Information Tagging

  • Manage and prioritize new initiative development and deployment priorities

  • Monitoring existing systems and recommending improvements by integrating new technologies

  • Work with plant teams to support new initiatives with existing or new technologies and provide training

  • Coordinate effectively between Plant Leaders and 3rd party vendor relationships

  • Coordinating with customers to design and provide upgrade to systems

  • Administering engineering activities of projects right from conceptualization to implementation

  • Work with other IT disciplines to maintain a stable plant technology platform

  • Maintain 2nd level support Contractors for daily operations and business continuity

  • Extensive experience with front end technology such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript/Typescript frameworks, an object-oriented programming language (preferably Java), Relational or noSQL database technology, cloud computing techniques, CI/CD tools, modern software design patterns

  • Experience in effective data modeling with both Relational and NoSQL databases

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable Engineering discipline or Business Degree with focus on Manufacturing Management or Information Technology.

  • Ability to travel as needed, 50-75%.

  • A willingness to work in the field hands-on as needed.

  • 10 Years in advanced manufacturing environments, this should include:

  • 2-4 years minimum - Automation / Robotic environment

  • 2-4 years minimum – APIs, Middleware, Data Ingestors, Connectors,

  • 2 years minimum - Edge Technology experience

  • 2 years minimum - Network Infrastructure Design, Security, and Installation

  • Knowledge of common web development languages (e.g., HTML, Java, PHP, JSP, ASP.Net, Python, AJAX.)

  • Knowledge of Data Storage Containers

  • Workflow management systems

  • Inventory Management & Warehouse management systems

  • SQL and other Database systems

  • ERP

  • Visualization/Digital Factory Tools

  • Data Recovery

  • RedLion – Data aggregator/Ingestor functionality

  • Vorne/SCADA

The Ideal Candidate possess the following attributes:

  • Relevant engineering or development experience

  • Possessing knowledge of software and coding skills

  • Experience with security frameworks for user and services authorization and authentication

  • Experience with modern debugging and root cause analysis techniques

  • Experience with version control system

  • Experience in designing systems for High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Performance, Efficiency, and Security

  • Exposure to developing technical roadmaps including work estimation, refactoring and modernizing legacy systems

  • Basic understanding of current Information Security protocols

  • Demonstrating project management abilities and leadership traits

  • Developing strong quantitative skills

  • Collaborating across interdisciplinary/Cross-Functional teams

  • Manufacturing experience should include either manufacturing management at plant wide level or engineering across multiple robotic systems

  • Experience collaborating with Infrastructure Support teams and coordinating efforts to maximize results

  • Adaptive to emerging/Edge technologies with a focus on quick time to market solutions that maximize value for investment without specializing in one ecosystem

  • Flexible and dynamic in designing solutions outside the industry

  • Merging legacy technologies with Edge solutions incrementally to increase adoption

  • Passive monitoring and quantifying utilization of existing software solutions prior to intensive investments in new technology solutions
