We are seeking a Payroll & Tax Business Systems Analyst Subject Matter Expert to join our CGI team in Sacramento, CA!

This position can be located in our Sacramento, CA office, preferred location is Belton, TX; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable within proximity of these locations.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

How you'll make an impact

• Act as the project Payroll SME: be able to confidently research, write requirements, perform analysis, test, triage defects, write user documentation, and mentor colleagues in the following areas:

o US Tax regulations & laws, W-2, etc.

o Household Employer Tax Laws - Federal & State

o Garnishments and Levies

o Understanding of Automated Pay Cycles

o Payroll Production Support

• Test and Release Management

o Payroll Testing

o Functional validation of GTN

o Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot

o Understanding of interfaces in XML (webservices and batch processes)

o Defects – analysis, troubleshooting, logging, tracking, resolution, and post-mortem

o Knowledge of Container processes – code freeze, testing, implementation

o Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence and ALM

• Additional Responsibilities:

o Actively look for ways to maximize team value

o Manage Agile Teams Backlog

o Oversee Product development

o Continuously build presentation / demo skills

o Be flexible to help with any work as SME role permits. Some examples include helping team to refine stories, conduct testing, add documentation for release, etc.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

What you'll bring

• 5 -10 years Payroll experience as a SME and/or Product Owner

• Act as the project Payroll SME: be able to confidently research, write requirements, perform analysis, test, triage defects, write user documentation, and mentor colleagues.

• Must possess experience with software development and testing as this is a highly technical role that is hands-on in supporting the development of new payroll features and functionality that requires the ability to draft functional and technical requirements, test, and analyze gaps in functionality.

• Support Change Requests to enhance the Payroll side of existing ERP system

• Experience with an ERP System (Payroll, Benefits & Deductions, Tax) -- Preferred experience with "CGI Advantage" - ERP System

• Knowledgeable with US Tax regulations & laws, W-2, Garnishments and Levies, Understanding of Automated Pay Cycles, and Payroll Production Support

• Household Employer Tax Laws - Federal & State

• Payroll Testing (fundamental understanding of payroll to produce expected results when testing)

• Oversee Product development

• Seeking someone who is self-motivated, able to adapt to changing project environments, and is a standout colleague

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Mentor, influence, facilitate, present, communicate, develop, analyze, and problem solve

• Highly self-motivated and possess the ability to work under deadline pressure

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Work in a virtual team environment

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Agile Certification in one area: Product Owner/Product Manager, Certified Scrum Master, SAFe for Teams, or Leading SAFe

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $68,700 - $146,800."
