TEKsystems Epic Mychart Analyst in Sacramento, California


The MyChart & Haiku/Canto Applications Analyst provides leadership and performs a variety of duties relating to the Clinical Information Systems applications, managing of mobile app platforms and web services/web portal related to Epic MyChart and Haiku/Canto applications, programs, workflow and goals. This position performs analysis, build and testing for assigned projects and assists with maintenance of the mychart web servers and mobile applications. This includes system changes across multiple environments.

The analyst will partner with IT, leadership, faculty and staff to develop and implement MyChart and Haiku/Canto system application tools. Responsibilities include: Providing leadership and serving as technical resource to the Epic MyChart Application team; designing,

developing, testing, implementing, and evaluating clinical information systems for the organization; Participating in planning, developing, training, implementation, and evaluation of information systems to support clinical and operational practice and ensure development, evaluation, and ongoing support for all components of the program. Coordinate communication, testing, and updating any changes to support documentation for assigned operational EMR changes.

This role involves multiple projects and demands independent decision making, project management skills and superior customer service interactions with a wide range of constituents.

Provides leadership and technical direction to team members and end users to ensure proper implementation of EMR MyChart and Haiku/Canto features and projects in a timely fashion.

Directs, educates and mentors project and operation team analysts in clinical workflow, technical design, support and build of applications. Serves as resource to staff and project team to resolve unusual problems/situations.

Independently requests and manages work performed by clinical stakeholders and outside departments to perform analysis and design activities required tofulfi ll project objectives. Tracks resources progress towards meeting project deadlines and fulfilling stated requirements.

Develops standardized processes and design build style guides for gathering clinical content from health system stakeholders.

Mentors new staff or assigned resources in analysis processes to work with clinical stakeholders using standardized communication and style guides.

Accurately estimates the effort required for completion of projects and the impact of requested changes to scheduled tasks and milestones.

Monitors outcomes of project activities and provides periodic reports of project outcomes, issues, and cross-team impacts.

Mentors the user community and team members on the use of clinical information systems.

May recommend to program team changes in methods, processes,

Designs, tests, implements and evaluates clinical systems for the organization to ensure successful implementation of the products, a highly productive workforce, and the delivery of quality patient care.

Designs develops, and implements system functionality to meet strategic needs of the organization, and complex cross-departmental needs, based on the organization’s overall guiding principles.

Utilized appropriate planned change management models (problem solving, diffusion, social interaction, other), principles and techniques in system planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.

Analyzes current documentation and data fl ows in departments and works with management and staff to redesign work fl ow as necessary; designs system to reflect appropriate work fl ow and scope of practice of users.

Develops clinical system functionality and tools to meet organizational and clinical department needs, in collaboration with end user departments.

Participates in the application training program, including re-training as updates and modifications occur.

Incorporate information system standards and operational standardization in accordance with administrative/operational strategies.

Demonstrates integrated information system functionality to a variety of audiences, including physicians, providers, and leadership.

Prioritizes user requests for enhancements to Epic EMR system.

Assists in integrating a wide variety of apps available in App Orchard. For example, external clinical decision support engines, Patient experience solutions, such as educational content and appointment reminder services, Payment gateway integrations, Infrastructure solutions, such as tools for faxing and printing or Reporting and analytical tools

Builds system configuration specific including API needs, i.e. Flowsheets to support industry –standard interface methods such as FHIR, SMART on FHIR authentication and CDS Hooks external decision support integration as examples.

Coordinates the project team, defines the project timelines, tests and implements approved projects including App Orchard.

Provides after-hours on-call Production environment support for multiple EpicEMR clinical modules, including modules not certified in. Ability to leverage documentation, testing, experience, previous training, and other resources
