Transports patients to and from medical appointments and treatments Responsibilities Transports patients to and from authorized sites Assists patients enter and exit vehicle; operates lift gate to facilitate transport of wheelchair patients Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers, destination and fuel consumption Inspects condition of van for cleanliness and safe operations Performs routine visual inspection of vehicle to ensure proper and safe operations including, but not limited to: checks tires, tests brakes, checks windshield and lights for cracks/breakage and tests headlights, brake lights and signals for proper operation Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skills and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor
