Through our REIT and Opportunistic Fund investment platforms, we are focused primarily on the acquisition, ownership, redevelopment and management of retail properties, including neighborhood and community shopping centers, urban high-barrier-to-entry street retail, and mixed-use properties with retail components.Position Summary:We are currently seeking a Paralegal to join our in-house Legal team to support the company’s real estate operations, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, litigation and public company activity. Responsibilities will include (among others): Oversee the in-house landlord/tenant default process and manage cases with outside counsel. Draft, review and negotiate commercial retail leasing documents including, but not limited to, amendments, assignments, letter agreements, SNDAs and access agreements.Perform legal due diligence, including abstracting and preparation of co-tenancy and use restriction analysis.Review and analyze existing agreements to assist internal teams with the operation of open air shopping centers and urban street retail.Coordinate with the transactional members of the legal department to ensure compliance with the requirements of, and accuracy of representations in, loan documents, purchase and sale agreements and joint venture agreements.Requirements:Bachelor's degree. Prior experience with commercial retail leasing preferred.Ability to work collaboratively with all departments in the company and to think strategically and take ownership of projects. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be proactive and prioritize in an effective manner to meet deadlines.Excellent attention to detail, judgment, follow through with initiative and dependability. Superior communication skills - verbal and written with a high level of professionalism. The base salary compensation range for this role reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual.
