The following professional skill applies to all Direct Care employees: Employee received certification in the Center?s Essential Skills Plan as evidenced by: 1. Employee passed the Essential Skills knowledge post-test in each of the modules in the Center?s Essential Skills Plan at the 80% accuracy level or above. 2. Employee passed the Essential Skills Practice in each of the modules in the Center?s New Essential Skills Plan at the 100% accuracy level. 3. Employee demonstrates Essential skills evidenced by performance monitoring spot checks at a minimal 100% level. ? Observations scores of less than 100% indicate the employee is performing below expectations. Section IV. Job Specifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS: ? High-school diploma required, Bachelor?s Degree preferred. Academic studies in the areas of psychology, sociology, social work, and education are highly desirable. ? Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders. ? Driver?s license is required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly works with youth with unpredictable behavior. Requires walking, and standing throughout the workday and occasionally requires sitting. Frequently requires stooping, bending, kneeling. Occasionally requires running and lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Requires vision and physical ability to regularly operate vehicles. Regularly accompanies youth on off-site activities and appointments. Requires physical ability to successfully perform CPR, First Aid procedures, and Behavior Management physical intervention. Significant and frequent use of verbal and written communication. Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances. CORE CURRICULUM: CPR, First Aid, Fire Safety, Bloodbourne Pathogens, Safe and Positive Approaches, Essential Skills, Corporate Compliance, QPR, Workplace Harassment, HIPPA, Drug Free Workplace, RADAR, Trauma Informed Care, Food Handling, Boundaries, and Workplace Violence. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION: Moderate. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE: Regularly works with youth with unpredictable behavior. Regularly works inside in areas that are adequately ventilated and lit. Some fluctuation in temperature. Participates in year round activities outside with youth. Personal Protective Equipment used- Latex gloves, masks, protective eyewear, gowns, and spill kits.
