Job Summary

The Transfer Driver is responsible for operation of commercial motor vehicle to transfer raw product from satellite station to a protein conversion plant.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Pick up raw materials as needed; weigh in raw material when returning to protein conversion plant.
  • Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition.
  • Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
  • Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
  • Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc).
  • Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily.
  • Maintain DOT log book if required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age with clean MVR.
  • Current Class A CDL holder with tanker endorsement.
  • Must be registered on

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience operating tractor trailers, preferred
  • Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
  • Good math and communication skills.

Physical Demands

  • Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a commercial motor vehicle and plant environment.
