Siemens Energy CNC Milling Machinist - 3rd Shift in Rural Hall, North Carolina

The primary purpose of this position is to be a machine operator capable of running multi-axis conventional and non-conventional computer-controlled machines according to manufacturing and engineering specifications.

The following are the major job duties, but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties by the incumbent. Unless otherwise stated, each employee is responsible for their own work as well as the responsibility of safety for themselves and their co-workers.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Set-up previously developed jobs for gas and steam airfoil components

  • Requisition vital tooling and gauging from tool crib.

  • Receive assignments, oral and/or written, from supervision

  • Make machine edits as approved

  • Must demonstrate the ability to proficiently pre-set tooling.

  • Measure and make appropriate adjustments to ensure parts meet specification

  • Interpret Engineering Drawings, Blueprints and other Technical Data as provided by engineering.

  • Rough and finish machining a variety of parts.

  • Identify parts machined with hand etcher or dot peen machine deburr parts, as required.

  • Mark and/or record production information, manually or using computer equipment, as required.

  • Advise supervision of irregularities or equipment malfunctions.

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.

  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.

  • Maintain inventory records for steel; charge to appropriate order, as required

  • Deburr work pieces and maintain material identification as required.

  • Check machined parts for conformance to print requirements, using precision measuring devices. Examine machine tools, equipment, and component systems to resolve cause of malfunctions, perform remedial action, installation and/or replacement of parts as required to maintain system operation.

  • Perform machining operations to ensure work is completed in a timely manner in accordance with Time Standards and/or Target Expectations.

  • Use computer system to access and enter non-conformance data; complete all vital paperwork.

  • Ensure that equipment is functioning properly by performing daily checks including scheduled preventative maintenance.

  • Operate material handling equipment including crane.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Requires the ability to perform arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including decimals and fractions.

  • Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms, and understand simple written instructions

  • Some milling experience and preferably CNC required

  • Equivalent to a high school education is acceptable, A.A.S. Degree in Machining Technology, or its equivalent experience preferred.

Proficiency Expectations:

Six (6) Months

Physical Demand:

Moderate with some periodic heavier lifting
