The Role

The Sourcing Manager leads the sourcing activities for Energy & Utilities in the EMEA region. This role joins the existing global energy and utility sourcing team and will support energy transition strategy development, sourcing of renewable energy options as well as the sourcing and procurement of existing energy, utilities, and industrial gas requirements in Europe. This includes, but is not limited to, developing sourcing and negotiation strategies for the needed materials at the lowest total cost of ownership, negotiating pricing and supply contracts with existing suppliers, working to develop new supply sources as needed and managing product supply and supplier risk.

In fulfilling this role, the Sourcing Manager will be responsible for managing relationships with external suppliers, negotiate complex supply contracts and interface with internal stakeholders in the strategic business units, sustainability, technology and manufacturing organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with key stakeholders in business leadership, operations, finance, legal, and across global sourcing to develop effective sourcing, cost reduction and category plans

  • Demonstrates and develops deep market expertise in the assigned categories and monitors market trends to inform sourcing decisions and make recommendations to business leadership

  • Facilitates supplier exploration, negotiation and contracting processes and ensures contract compliance

  • Builds and manages supplier relationships, performance, risks and contracting based on sourcing strategy and business needs

  • Negotiate and execute supply contracts in line with the product and category strategies​ 

  • Leads total cost of ownership savings opportunities and working capital improvements via negotiations with suppliers

  • Assesses product and supplier risk of business interruption and establishes and executes effective mitigation plans

  • Upholds internal and external policies, regulations, and laws

Required Skills

  • A successful track-record in Energy & Utilities Sourcing, preferably within the chemicals industry.

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

  • You have a passion for reducing cost and possess strong negotiation.

  • Skills: analytical, influencer, change management and problem-solving skills with a strong bias for action.

  • The successful candidate is not afraid to challenge the status quo.

  • A minimum of bachelor's degree from an internationally recognized university in combination with an MBA or Technical degree would be preferred for this role.
