JOB REQUIREMENTS: Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Design new equipment to aid in the repair or maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment, or building structures. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Perform routine maintenance on boilers, such as replacing burners or hoses, installing replacement parts, or reinforcing structural weaknesses to ensure optimal boiler efficiency. Test and treat water supply. Assemble boilers at installation sites, using tools such as levels, plumb bobs, hammers, torches, or other hand tools. Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Position Overview The nature of the maintenance department requires periodic overtime and/or work swing shifts when it is deemed necessary due to business conditions. Call time and other stipends are paid as applicable. All maintenance crafts people will be required to be respirator certified. This position requires the candidate to have completed a state certified apprenticeship program. Education and Aptitude Qualifications: A State of Wisconsin E & I Journeyperson card is required at time of interview. Strong safety values and understanding of safe working standards. At least two years of industrial work experience in the maintenance trades in the past four years is preferred. General Requirements: Ability to work effectively within the maintenance and operations teams. Personally adhere to and enforce all safety procedures and policies, to include confined space, and lockout/tag out. Participate in and assist with maintenance days, changeovers, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned platforms. Rebuild and/or conduct bench repair of small electrical components and maintain parts inventory. Provide technical assistance in problem solving on assigned platforms or in area of expertise. Review electrical reliability on a continual basis and identify improvement opportunities. Ability to logically troubleshoot high-speed manufacturing machinery and read blueprints.
