Affixing Operator M-Th 4:45am -2:45pm Job Locations US-MN-Roseville Job Category Production ID 2020-5374 Shift US - Weekday days Overview Sets up and operate the Punch Press machine. This operation cuts out sheets into card form. The operation supplies the stamping processes with cards for further operation. Responsibilities Punch Press Operator Level I Reads and interprets the shop floor router and workmanship manual as well as applicable specifications. Understands the location and function of all emergency stops on the machine. Sets up the Punch Press machine to punch in accordance with the specifications on the Proof and Finishing Ticket. Records all measurements of one card from each cavity in the applicable space on the Finishing Ticket after punch is set up to spec. Performs a First Article Inspection and obtains third party verification. Utilizes a caliper to check and maintain positioning throughout the run. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Logs time properly in the ERP system. Ensures the job is balanced in blind audit system, rectifying any discrepancies prior to releasing the batch to the next process. Performs advanced troubleshooting when quality or mechanical issues arise. Able to perform adjustments to maintain position. Punch Press Operator Level II (Completes all Punch Press Operator Level I responsibilities plus): Ensure all punch setups are completed within CPI specification. Complete all FAI verifications. Follow sampling plan for QA checks on the punch machines. Stop machine for punch related defects and flag any defects for subsequent work centers. Isolate non-conforming material using the NCMR procedure ensuring that all product is clearly marked and all hold paperwork filled out completely. Dispositions should be included on NCMR paperwork Fill out all paperwork completely and accurately. Ability to perform 100% of the punch set up procedure using the Mulbauher inspection machine. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. They must be able to use a caliper and other hand tools. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions (written and verbal), ability to write simple report, ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand up to 10 hours a shift and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10 pound sleeves of cards. They will be required to move roll around carts which may weigh up to 100 pounds. Good vision required for this job and this includes close vision and color vision. In executing some functions of the job, the employee is required to reach above and away from their body and bend, twist, and/or squat.
