Veterinary Technician or Assistant- Emergency- Overnights

Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Roseville is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by a team of highly skilled, compassionate veterinarians and veterinary technicians who are extensively trained in emergency medicine and intensive care.  We are committed to working closely with the family and family veterinarians in providing the best care for your pet.

About the Job: As a Veterinary Assistant/Technician you will be responsible for:

  • Triage incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit

  • Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures

  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates. 

  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment

  • Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events

  • Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures

    Schedule: 

  • 3-12 shifts, 36 hours a week

  • Overnight shift- differential offered

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 year of experience working as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant in an animal hospital setting required. 

  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required.

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community.

  • Our compensation for this role typically falls between $15.75  and $30.25 . Compensation is based on skills and experience.
