Waste Connections Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Rosemount, Minnesota

SKB Environmental, a Waste Connections company, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our GROWING team in Rosemount, MN.

Pay: $26-$40 per hour Depending on Experience!

Applicants for this role must possess a strong, dedicated, safety conscience work ethic along with a positive can-do attitude.

Hours are typically 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM , Monday thru Friday.

$7,000 STAY ON BONUS INCLUDED

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.

  • Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.

  • Utilize vehicle computer electro systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.

  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.

  • Work environment will require the ability to work in the field for all outdoor weather conditions.

  • Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Minimum of 1+ years’ experience, that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above (preferred); Entry Level Graduate considered.

  • Welding / Fabrication experience.

  • Knowledge of Hydraulic repairs.

  • Great written and verbal communication skills.

  • Well organized.

  • Must provide own personal tools.
