Reporting to the Senior Manager, Vendor Collaboration, this role will manage the ongoing communication of performance and drive continuous process improvements with vendors. This role will manage the communication between a number of groups, conveying a single message to the vendors and holding them accountable for meeting performance targets. The Vendor Performance Manager will also lead vendor collaboration-related projects aimed at reducing costs from the combined supply chain and sharing in these savings with vendors.

New Ways of Work : This position has been segmented as hybrid meaning the work is a combination of 3 days onsite In Rosemont, IL (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and 2 days remotely (Monday, and Friday) as defined by the role segmentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and manage the implementation of programs to assess and promote supplier performance and development.

  • Manage the vendor scorecard process, reviewing scorecard results and trends with vendors. Track vendor delivery performance and drive corrective action plans where necessary.

  • Gather stakeholder and subject-matter expertise/insights and business requirements to ensure sourcing performance meet business needs. Work with category stakeholders and business partners to implement procurement policies and procedures as they pertain to replenishment.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities with vendors for collaborative cost savings, (e.g., packaging redesign, warehouse optimization, pallet management).

  • Assist in managing SKU Rationalization process across a diverse vendor base and widespread geographical footprint.

  • Work closely with category management team and assist in the development and execution of category/supplier strategies. Contributes to negotiation strategy development and negotiation execution.

  • Work closely with Replenishment team for the assigned category, ensuring consistency in vendor performance.

  • Establishes supply chain contract terms and conditions, coordinating with legal to execute optimal contracts with suppliers.

  • Oversee preparation and dissemination for information regarding contract status, compliance and changes.

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Category Management team, Replenishment team, Pricing team

External: Vendors and suppliers as well as outside consultants and contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: Bachelors degree in business or similar field required, MBA preferred.

Related Experience: Must possess a minimum of 7 year progressive experience in vendor management and development and use of management tools (SRM, vendor scorecards, conducting Quarterly Business Reviews, etc.)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong change management skills: ability to leverage deep understanding of business areas' requirements to successfully operationalize the strategic sourcing process across the business where appropriate

  • Strong proven leadership skills, to include: ability to build relationships; ability to foster teamwork and organizational development; ability to lead negotiations; cross-functional team leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills

  • Strong meeting facilitation and presentation skills

  • Experience in sourcing across a variety of categories, foodservice preferred

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment

  • Ability to lead and influence change in the face of complexity and ambiguity

  • This position requires the ability to understand the company’s business strategy and related objectives, particularly as they relate to vendor collaboration and category management processes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
