ADP is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A.

As a Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A, you will lead the forecasting, planning and analytical support for one of ADP’s business units. You will analyze drivers of expense within your business unit and use historical performance, operational business decisions/assumptions, and macroeconomic conditions to project future outcomes.

You will build, review, and enhance expense models. Collaborating with Finance business unit partners to build and share knowledge will be critical. You will also oversee storytelling, including connecting results and key metrics to provide a detailed, but concise explanation around performance and forward-looking projections.

The day to day of this role will depend on which part of the financial life cycle we are in. While the day to day may shift, common to all these activities is one thing: becoming the subject matter expert for your business unit.

What you’ll do:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Operating Planning and Forecasting. You will support leaders in creating an annual operating plan that is aligned to the strategic plan and perform forecasting that provides visibility into business results to enable business decisions.

  • Management Reporting and Financial Close Activities. You will produce and distribute recurring and ad hoc management reports ensuring financial reporting accuracy. You will assist in presentation preparation on results, forecasts, and plans to senior management.

  • Business Analysis. You will employ a deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provide insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems. Additionally, you will assist in managing KPI's such as backlog reporting, staffing requirements, starts, weeks to start, no starts, labor productivity, analysis of implementation, survey scores and client satisfaction.

  • Strategic Planning and Initiatives. You will assist leaders in developing strategies and initiatives to drive growth and margin improvements and execute on strategic initiatives such as M-A support, product launches, market entry, and process improvement efforts. Additionally, you will provide analytical support, conduct research as required, and help to develop and coach new and junior associates.

  • Business Partnering. You will partner with key stakeholders to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. You will make compelling arguments based on facts and data and obtain necessary buy-in to deliver on business objectives.

  • Financial Operational Policy. You will establish and maintain consistent financial operational policies and procedures to govern related practices and comply with all departmental financial operations, policies, and practices.

  • Experience. You have 5+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in a Financial Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst, or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • Experience in corporate FP&A, including proven proficiency in performing complex financial analyses and building financial models from scratch.

  • Advanced Excel experience, including VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and Index Matching. For extra comfortability in the role, experience with SQL, Power Query, Tableau, Power BI or similar would be helpful.

  • Experience with Hyperion to input financial data, Oracle to pull general ledgers, or similar tools.

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership.

  • Ability to think critically and work within set guidelines, but also able to work within the “gray area” when historical trends do not produce reasonable results or projections.

  • Exceptional and effective communication skills, including being able to challenge assumptions and drivers while explaining your position on expense metrics and drivers.

  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment, understanding when best to collaborate to achieve optimal results.

  • You will have a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent. An MBA or credits towards an MBA will allow additional comfortability in the role.

Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. The compensation for this role is $55,900.00 - $113,700.00 / Year
