Description

Kimberly Casey with Robert Half is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant for a client in Roseburg, OR. You might be the full-time Sr. Staff Accountant we are looking for if you are driven by a challenging but friendly work environment. This role comes with incredible healthcare coverage, as the client pays for 98% of the healthcare premiums for employee, spouse and dependents! The ideal candidate for this Sr. Staff Accountant position can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you might be a good fit for this role. This position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Your responsibilities

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

  • Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Journal entries experience

  • Deep understanding of account reconciliation

  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains Accounting
