About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of a primary store in addition to a community grouping of stores as assigned by the Area Manager. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships and utilizing the full spectrum of banking services. Manages 10+ FTEs including 2-4 other Store Managers in a Community designated market plus their own store.

  • Require extensive established business relationships in the community (typically in an urban neighborhood grouping or smaller community setting) and significant outside sales experience.

  • Manage all Store Manager essential duties.

  • Lead all sales management related activities (mentoring, coaching, motivating, tracking, etc) within the assigned community. You will ensure each store is meeting their pre-established growth goals and provide active coaching and support to achieve those goals.

  • Work with the AR Business Partner to handle employee relations issues. Oversee the implementation of performance appraisals and coaching plans.

  • Provide guidance on customer relationship management, sales management, goal setting, revenue generation, and expense control.

  • Administer leadership and direction in ensuring all revenue and referral sources are pursued with industry-leading service standards.

  • Maintain, create, and promote a climate of team-based management directed towards problem solving and decision making.

  • Manage a large-sized, more complex store with core deposits above $60 million. Up to 20 percent of time managing high value relationships at this store.

  • Direct Resources Managed- 6-20 and Indirect Resources Managed- 11-49.

  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position and keep up to date on regulation changes.

  • Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations that apply to your position.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

About You:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience in banking and finance, business, or a related field.

  • 4-7 years of supervisory/management experience, required.

  • 4-7 years of progressive responsibility within a financial organization, required.

  • Active membership in several community organizations.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively.

  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage time exceptionally well, be extremely flexible and prioritize on a frequent basis.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications, other banking computer systems and related software, and ability to operate a variety of office equipment.

  • Effective training and mentoring skills.

  • Demonstrated sales skills.

  • Advanced interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and employees. Excellent people, sales management, and supervisory skills.

  • Advanced public relations, verbal and written communication, decision making and analytical skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of banking and credit lending including retail services and products. Strong business banking skills to develop and manage small business portfolio of loans and deposits.

  • Extensive experience with Umpqua’s policies and methods of operation and the demonstrated ability to effectively exercise a leadership role, or equivalent related experience in the banking industry.

  • Will be asked to coach, mentor or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Must be registered as a MLO as per the S.A.F.E. Act requirements.

  • This position may require you to act as a Bank MLO, which is defined as an individual authorized by the Bank to take mortgage loan applications, offer a mortgage, arrange a mortgage, assist a consumer in obtaining or applying to obtain a mortgage, negotiate a mortgage, otherwise obtain or make a mortgage for another person, represent to the public (through advertising or other means of communication) that such person can or will perform any of these activities, or refer a consumer to a loan originator (Note: Except those employees of the Bank who do not discuss particular credit terms available and do not refer the consumer, based on the employee’s assessment of the consumer’s financial characteristics to a particular Bank MLO) for compensation or gain. All MLOs will be required to register as an MLO complying with the SAFE Act requirements.

  • This position IS NOT authorized to act as a Bank Closed-End MLO, which is defined as any position designated to perform the activities of a Bank MLO for closed-end transactions, and therefore this position is limited to acting as a Bank MLO for open-end transactions (i.e., home equity lines of credit) only.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $56,230.00 - $116,292.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
