Title: Powertrain Snow Field Development Technician


Development test setup and execution for snowmobile powertrain systems in vehicles in the field to meet calibration, performance and emission targets. Interpret data and provide test results to the Powertrain Development Engineers.


· Develop powertrains by performing testing, hardware development and engine calibration in the field to meet requirements for engine applications.

  • Perform field calibration of snowmobile engines at multiple locations including mountains· Setup and operate data acquisition systems and communication with software.· Disassemble and reassemble engines for development testing.· Responsible for the reporting and documentation of all tests.· Responsible for the quality and integrity of field test data.· Must be detailed orientated, able to keep good records, summarize results and write test reports.· Be able to offer suggestions to improve quality or processes for continual improvement.· Maintains a well-organized clean work area and meets OSHA requirements.· Maintain strict confidentiality.· Other duties as assigned.SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE· Technical degree in engine technology and/or minimum of 3-5 years experience with high performance engines.· Experience assembling and disassembling engines and vehicles required.

  • Must have snowmobile mountain riding skills· Have an excellent understanding of internal combustion engines (2 and 4 stroke) and fuel systems.· Familiarity with engine field and dynamometer testing.

  • Good electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.· Understanding of the tuning process of CVT clutches.

  • Fabrication and welding skills desired· Excellent verbal and written communications skills. · Strong computer skills.· Must be able to enter Canada· Must be able to travel for extended periods of time, up to 25%.
