    We are currently looking for an exceptional One variable calculus Professor . We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as applications will be processed on a rolling basis. You will teach in the STEM Department and to our students enrolled in the first year of our Bachelor’s Degrees.

    Indicative module content

  • Real functions of a real variable: definitions, properties, examples

  • Derivatives and differentials: definitions, properties, theorems, calculation of derivatives and differentials of elementary functions

  • Function study: maxima, minima, inflection points, graphs

  • Integration: definition, properties, theorems, calculation of indefinite and definite integrals of elementary functions (only those integrals connected to probability)

  • Differential equations: definition, solution of elementary differential equations

     

    Qualifications Requested 

  • A relevant master’s degree or Phd qualification (eg: Statistics, Mathematics, or another related field from an accredited, state-approved programme). 

  • Resident in Italy - Right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid Italian work VISA). 

  • Immaculate police check(s).

  • Fluent English: reading, speaking, writing (Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR level C1-C2).

    Contract Duration 

    1st term (September-January)

    36h of teaching + assessment and other academic related activities

     

    Experience 

  • A minimum of two years of recent and relevant experience in a university environment. 

  • Relevant teaching experience within the subject area(s)

  • Evaluate and provide regular feedback on students' exercises, projects and examinations.

  • Specialist skills & knowledge. 

  • Proven ability to plan and deliver innovative inquiry-based lessons that engage students and address their diverse learning needs. 

  • Demonstrated ability to use digital tools and resources effectively to enhance learning. 

  • Planning and organisational skills. 

    Personal qualities and desired attitudes

    In addition to relevant qualifications, experience, and skills, we’re looking for professors who are: 

  • Passionate about their subject areas and able to engender the same enthusiasm in students. 

  • Positive and have worked to develop respectful relationships with colleagues and students.
