Automotive Purchasing Manager - Drive Excellence in Procurement

Join our team as a Purchasing Manager and take the wheel in steering our Direct and Indirect Purchasing activities towards excellence.

What you will do:

As our Purchasing Manager, you'll oversee all facets of purchasing activities and Supplier Quality Assurance functions, ensuring site competitiveness and top-notch quality of purchased parts with zero defects. Your role is pivotal in managing the Purchasing team, fostering supplier relationships, and driving performance to meet key indicators.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Purchasing team, ensuring alignment with company expectations and fostering competence growth.

  • Act as the primary interface during supplier crises, addressing issues related to quality, delivery, and commercial matters.

  • Drive the Purchasing team to achieve key performance indicators and implement purchasing strategies within budgetary constraints.

  • Spearhead material productivity initiatives in collaboration with site Management.

  • Support buyer negotiations with suppliers and validate new supplier introductions.

  • Mitigate site exposure to supplier base risks and ensure Supplier Integration progress within the site.

  • Maintain strict compliance with supplier operational data and respond to external quality system audits.

  • Monitor key performance indicators such as Material Index, Project Material Index, and Minority Business spent to meet budgetary goals.

What you will need:

  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial position within the automotive industry.

  • Self-motivated, well-organized, results-oriented, and a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
