  1. VEHICLE OPERATION: Safely operate and maintain a "Class A" commercial vehicle, such as a tractor-trailer combination (with 53-foot trailer), and ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies;

     

  2. LOADING AND UNLOADING: Observe that cargo is properly loaded or unloaded by the shippers and receivers; close the trailer doors and secure the straps in a manner that protects both the goods and the vehicle;

     

  3. ROUTE PLANNING: Plan and optimize delivery routes, taking into account traffic conditions, weather, and other factors to ensure on-time deliveries;

     

  4. DOCUMENTATION: Complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logs, to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulations;

     

  5. SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE: Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's road-worthiness;

     

  6. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Interact professionally with customers, shippers, and receivers; ensure excellent customer service; and maintain a positive company image;

     

  7. COMMUNICATION: Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and fellow drivers to provide updates on delivery status, and report any issues or incidents to the appropriate parties; and

     

  8. MAINTENANCE: Perform basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle, such as checking fluids levels, tire pressure, and address minor mechanical issues. Report any significant mechanical problems to the company for prompt repair.
