The Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy.

The Azure Fiber team is looking for a talented and motivated individual to help shape the future of our accounting processes and procedures as we look to expand the production of Hollow Core Fiber manufacturing and deployment.

The team’s charter is to partner with a broad group of stakeholders to build out the end-to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure, while optimizing investments and enabling accounting solutions that are scalable and mitigate risk. As a key member of the team you’ll be responsible for assisting the business in managing total cost of ownership and cost in a manufacturing industry and working on solutions for new initiatives focused on the next

generation of Microsoft’s Cloud infrastructure. The role will collaborate with Microsoft partners globally, including Finance, Engineering, Azure Core Business, Procurement, and Business Operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the total cost of ownership for Hollow Core fiber production and deployment

• Analysis of supply chain planning and outsourcing to third party partnerships for Hollow Core Fiber production

• Partner with the Finance and Azure Fiber teams to understand results, deliver connected business insights, relevant analytics and provide forward -looking estimates on cost per unit and total cost of ownership

• Liaise with land, build, and infrastructure planning teams to provide detail on availability and implementation of Hollow Core Fiber

• Assist in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process complete analysis and modelling working with other business, finance, engineering, and outsourcing teams

• Partner with the business and DC networking teams to quantify impact of Hollow Core Fiber in the planned DC deployments

• Partner in monthly close reporting on costing trends and identify areas of growth and automation

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND proficient experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Previous experience in cost per unit reporting and manufacturing/production materials finance.

  • Preliminary understanding of Total Cost of Ownership, Cost per Unit, and Manufacturing processes

  • Excellent analytical, collaboration, and time management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of management

  • Demonstrated systems and process improvement experience

  • Must be extremely collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective internal business partnerships

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, have excellent attention to detail, and work effectively under deadlines
