Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Software Test Engineer Electronic , to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot production hardware to determine the root cause of failures and document and identify corrective actions.

  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues.

  • Support production floor operators and test technicians in a timely fashion.

  • Optimize processes to reduce cost and increase throughput.

  • Maintain processes and procedures in accordance with ISO standards.

  • Data mine, create, and analyze metrics to target cost improvements.

  • Support hardware integration and testing.

  • Create engineering documentation (change notices, parts lists, bills of materials, test reports, and test procedures)

  • Support transition technologies from design to production.

  • Develop and design test stations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related STEM field and BW with 2+ years of experience in system testing and debugging to the component level, or in Digital/Analog circuit design.

  • Proficiency in working with programming in .NET C#.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.

  • Basic electronics ability to read and interpret a schematic.

  • Previous experience in the use of oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, electronic loads, function waveform generators, frequency counter/timers, and other troubleshooting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software.

  • Experience with C and Object-Oriented C++ programming.

  • Experience with Test Stand and/or, Labview

  • Experience with networking and troubleshooting test stations and computers.

  • Basic knowledge of optics, fiber optics, and/or Lasers

  • Experience with Jira, BitBucket or GitHub

  • Experience with RF equipment.

  • Experience with controlling instruments via GPIB, USB, or Ethernet interfaces.

  • Experience with configuring/adding test HW to computers. Examples: GPIB Interfaces, Serial Port Interfaces, Ethernet Interfaces, 1553 Interfaces, Frame Grabbers

  • Experience with designing and documenting test fixtures and consoles.

  • Six-sigma experience plus.

  • Experience presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

  • Previous experience in RF signal analysis utilizing vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.

MANUMS

Salary Range: $83,300 - $124,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
