BREWER SCIENCE INC Senior Lab Technician in Rolla, Missouri

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Senior Lab Technician. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.

Summary:

Perform tests, data entry, and documentation, and other tasks per the instruction of the RandD Lab Supervisor. Runs lab tests or advanced instrumentation, can troubleshoot 25% of issues, fills out POs, and ships samples to other location

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine physical property testing (e.g. density, viscosity, etc.) of BSI products, intermediate materials, and raw materials; report and document results
  • Alert supervisor and manufacturing personnel of out of control or out of spec test results
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on inspection and equipment/instruments to maintain accuracy, precision, and fitness for use
  • Comply with clean room protocols, and perform general housekeeping tasks and clean-up procedures
  • Ensure that the use and storage of inspection/measuring/test equipment or instrument is such that the accuracy, precision, and fitness for use are maintained
  • Perform key functional tests (e.g. chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.) on BSI products, intermediate materials, and raw materials
  • Responsible for maintaining control charts for equipment
  • Basic troubleshooting capability: understands normal functions of equipment, recognizes and identifies problems and knows who to pull in for assistance
  • Show initiative to minimize the number of unprocessed production samples
  • Apply knowledge in all phases of product testing, SPC, and Control of Non-Conforming Product
  • Write and revise test procedures

Education and Credentials:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 6 years related experience in a lab or chemical manufacturing environment or
  • Associates Degree plus two years experience or
  • Bachelors Degree preferred or
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience
