Veit & Co Inc Traveling Heavy Equipment Technician in Rogers, Minnesota

Job Description: Veit is seeking an experienced Traveling Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The Traveling Technician will complete repairs and preventive maintenance on our fleet of heavy-duty construction equipment throughout jobsites in Southern Minnesota, Iowa, and Eastern Wisconsin. A Day in the Life at Veit * Performs preventative maintenance to fleet of heavy civil construction equipment. * Diagnoses engine, mechanical, and fuel system issues on equipment including engines, drive train components, and electrical systems. * Utilizes Cat ET (Electronic Technician) to diagnose systems. * Utilizes tools for repair and maintenance of all systems. * Repair/replace undercarriage components and systems. * Repair/replace Engines and Transmissions. * Utilizes HCSS E360 to submit work orders, accurately document repairs and unit history, etc. * Involved with maintaining a clean and safe shop environment. * Keeps supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect Company operations. * Other projects or duties as assigned by management. What You'll Need * Minimum of 7 years' experience diagnosing and completing repairs on heavy civil construction equipment in a shop setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of heavy construction equipment. * Ability to adhere to all safety rules, policies, and regulations, and the ability to maintain a safe work environment. * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with changing priorities and situations. * Ability to use computer programs and comfortable using technology including iPhone and iPad. * Ability to accurately communicate instructions and work orders verbally and in writing. Must also be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. * Ability to work independently, assuring repair decisions are made utilizing appropriate experience and tasks are completed and in a timely manner. * Willingness to train and continuously educate to keep up on current methods in the industry. What Will Set You Apart * Vocational or technical training/certification preferred. * Experience using diagnostic software is a plus. * Experience working on a Caterpillar fleet is strongly preferred. Other * Requires 10-12 hour workdays, Monday through Friday and some Saturday's will be required. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. * Requires valid drivers license and ability to maintain satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). * Tools are not provided. * Company supplied uniforms * Work Boot allowance available. * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Union affiliation or willingness to take the necessary steps to join the union. * Full-time traveling role to Veit jobsites.
