Trane Technologies, the global leader in innovative climate solutions for a sustainable world, is seeking a Technical Inside Sales (HVAC or VRF) in Rocky Hill, CT . In this position you will be teaming with our local sales force to partner with engineers, architects, contractors and owners/developers in the design, application and sale of ductless systems. These systems will include the worlds most complete line of efficient heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and building management controls.

This position is hybrid and offers flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify needs and generate customer proposals

  • Call on select customers to maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, advising corrective action, and communicating with customers, and co-workers. Build consultative relationships and trust with engineering, owner, and contracting customers.

  • Responsible for VRF/Ductless product sales, growth, and sales solutions that involve teaming with Account Mangers in assigned territory.

  • Assisting in estimating, submittals, and order entry.

  • Support engineers and design-build contractors with design, application, and code compliance.

  • Understand market and develop/lead overall sales strategy. Responsible for keeping abreast of external market conditions and internal requirements related to portfolio. This includes energy rebates, tax incentives, and code within assigned territory.

  • Identify product gaps, develop solutions to minimize the impact, and work with Product Management to prioritize and eliminate gaps. Understanding inefficiency within current workflow and processes to better service customers by improving process between acquisition and fulfillment. Supporting our field support personnel by being the liaison to the office and improving processes for project handoff for execution.

  • Provide commercial and high level application-based technical product sales training to area office in designation personnel and customers as required. Trainings include system design and VRF concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred

  • Experience in the application, selection, and/or installation of VRF or HVAC systems strongly preferred or prior related experience in the HVAC industry

  • Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc. preferred.

  • Must be able to travel 10-20%

  • Ability to public speaking and present

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:

  • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Carless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 base salary, plus incentive
