Maryland Treatment Centers, Inc. FT Research Assistant- Rockville in Rockville, Maryland

Maryland Treatment Centers – Rockville, MD Avery Road Treatment Center (ARTC) in Rockville, MD is seeking a full time research assistant. The ideal applicant has at least an undergraduate degree in a scientific field (e.g., psychology) and experience or interest in clinical research on opioid use disorder. The research assistant will work closely with other research staff on two multisite clinical trials funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, with the potential for involvement on other research projects. ARTC is part of Maryland Treatment Centers (MTC), an established regional behavioral health provider focused on clinical excellence, innovation, and scholarship. We are a complex center offering a full continuum of levels of care for the treatment of addictions and co-occurring disorders with a special focus on opioid use disorder. In addition to our primary clinical operations, MTC has an enthusiastic and growing research team with a 20-year legacy of conducting clinical research on addictions and co-occurring disorders. Collaborators have included investigators from Friends Research Institute, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and Dartmouth College. We have also conducted trials with partners at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) through the Clinical Trials Network (CTN). Responsibilities would include: • Helping to collect, prepare, and maintain regulatory and other documents as required by the research protocol • Subject recruitment, enrollment, and instruction as appropriate to specific study objectives • Helping to coordinate study advertisements • Plan, implement and maintain data collection systems in support of research protocol; may assist with analysis of research data • Electronic data entry and maintenance for clinical programs for program improvement needs • May involve off-site visits in order to perform job functions • Opportunities to be involved with dissemination of data (e.g., poster presentation) Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field required • One year of experience in clinical research preferred • Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
