Sevita Dietary and Food Cook in Rockville, Maryland

MENTOR Adult Day Health, a member of the Sevita family, provides day programs for elders with complex medical or rehabilitative needs. This allows seniors to obtain quality healthcare while remaining active and involved in the community and continuing to live in their own homes. Our programs are staffed with qualified, experienced licensed nurses and caregivers who are trained to provide individual assistance to each person we serve.

Dietary and Food Cook

FT - Monday - Saturday 6am -12pm

Pay Rate: $22 Hourly

***Must speak Korean to speak with the participants

Do you have strong leadership skills, experience in dietary supervision, and want to work for a company that positively impacts the wellbeing of the individuals it serves? In the Kitchen Supervisor role, you will help this company in its commitment to serve others by providing day-to-day direction to kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation and distribution of meals to persons served.

  • Train staff on standard concepts, practices, and procedures for cooking and dietary food preparation

  • Prepare all menu items using established policies and procedures

  • Ensure that presentation and preparation of all menu items adhere to established standards and prescribed diet plans, and are delivered at acceptable temperatures

  • Communicate any changes to the established menu according to company policy

  • Monitor and ensure that special diets, meal plans, and portions are provided according to menu guidelines

  • Develop and maintain adequate food/supplies, order as required Inspect supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure all equipment is cleaned and operational

  • Complete daily quality assurance checks required by state/local health departments and food temperature logs

  • Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout the kitchen areas at all times, in compliance with established standards

  • May oversee full-sized kitchen, in which meals are cooked and prepared on-site

  • Report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents to supervisor

  • Adhere to policy requiring the timely reporting of consumer and/or employee injuries

    Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food service industry; supervisory experience preferred ServSafe and Allergen Certification

  • Other certifications as required by local jurisdiction

  • A commitment to quality in everything you do

  • Effective communication skills and strong management skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to multitask
